Why moms do the things they do.

I decided I needed to blog a few recent "mom" experiences because if I didn't make light of the situations I just might start to get discouraged and never want to leave the house again. So I was at the store yesterday, I had an errand I had been trying to do for about a week now, but it seemed to never work out for me to go so I decided that I had to get it done that day. We were checking out, of course that's always crazy with two kids. Jake was getting restless and Claire was in tantrum mode because I realized when we got to the check out stand that she had been sneakily putting things into the cart without me realizing and now I had four balls to set somewhere without them rolling away and a very unhappy two year old because I wouldn't let her have the balls. I'm dragging claire to the cart to set her inside so she doesn't run away and she steps on my foot and breaks my flip flop. I could hardly walk with the stupid thing so I got some super glue for the next errand and we were on our unhappy way. We get to the next store and Claire's mad because I'm making her sit in the cart and then I realize the super glue didn't work and my shoe is broken still. I wasn't backing down, I had to get this stupid thing done so I grab my shoe and walk around the whole store with one shoe on and one in my hand, while Claire is screaming. I love two-year olds.

This next "situation" happened a week or so ago. I found a great deal on a double stroller and decided to get it so I didn't go crazy with two kids in the house. We get to the store and immediate tantrum, Claire is just really great at that I've decided. We get the stroller and put the ginormous box on top of the cart. Well Claire runs away. I can't run after her because I have jake who's also crying and and giant box on the cart, I turn to go towards her and the box falls off and gets lodged somehow under the shelf. I can't get it unstuck meanwhile Claire is somewhere in the next couple of aisles doing who knows what. Lets just say I got to the checkout finally with two very unhappy children and one not so happy mommy. I did get the box unlodged with a few tugs. I think the cashier could see on my face that I was at the end of my rope and she helped me out to my car. What a nice lady! So not so fun, but at least I have a wonderful new stroller! Okay now that I've written them down they don't seem that bad, which is good because there are much worse things I could be dealing with. And on my way home I saw a car get rear-ended so I think heavenly father was helping me see that things aren't so bad, even if they seem like it at the time. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

And in case you were wondering, this is the stroller I ended up with.

Memories

Okay I've seen this on a few friend's blogs and it's so fun, so ...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

I can't wait to see what you remember, I'm a bit nervous actually...

Where did I come from...where am I going

After reading this month's Ensign magazine I decided I wanted to share with all of my friends and family my testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is my Savior, he died and paid for my sins and was resurrected. He lives today. All anyone has to do is repent and come unto him. This knowledge brings me joy in that I don't have to let past mistakes dictate my future. I have a hope for the future and I KNOW that I will be with my family forever. This knowledge comforts me when I think of the sadness and pain of this world. One day it will be easier. I know that there are Apostles upon the earth today, just as there was in Jesus' time. They are led by Him just as they were then. They give us revelation from God, it's amazing that we still have revelation coming from God. Why wouldn't we? The scriptures say he is the same yesterday today and forever, he would not forget about us here today and he hasn't. The words that these men speak are comforting to me, and when they speak something inside me is calmed and I know in my heart their words are true.
Along with the restoration of the Gospel truths came a book called the Book of Mormon, this book testifies of Jesus Christ, it is another witness of Him. "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost."
I have done this, I have read and asked God and he has answered my prayers in miraculous ways, ways which still bring tears to my eyes even as I write, that these things are true.

I share these things because I want everyone to have the happiness and joy that I have. I want them to have the inner peace that I have. Christ is the bread of life, the living water, through Him you will hunger and thirst no more. "God is mindful of every people" "He has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things and he is a merciful being". I testify of these things and know them to be true with all of my heart, and no matter what comes, I cannot deny what I know, that Christ lives and that his gospel is once again on the earth.
