Walgreen's
Okay, so I've become a bit fanatical when it comes to getting a good deal, I think this gene comes from my mom who always had a coupon for just about anything when we were growing up, but it doesn't help that I have a sister and sister in law who tell me about all their good deals. I figure, I'm not working, so my job can be saving what money we do have coming in. So I was all excited, I had planned out a bunch of items I was going to purchase on Friday because they had overlapping coupons, plus $5 off $20 coupons and register rewards (coupons to spend on whatever on your next visit). I go to check out and realize the cashier looks a little familiar, but I figure he had just checked me out before. I always dread checking out at Walgreens because of the sheer mechanics of it all, there is a whole art to couponing at Walgreens, you have to make sure your manufacturer coupons come before your store coupons but after your register rewards or else some of them don't work. Since I had more than $20 worth of stuff I was doing three different transactions so I could use more than one $5 off $20 coupon and there were a few coupons that wouldn't print out until after your purchase that I wanted to use too. I always feel so bad for the poor cashier that checks me out and poor Claire who is always pretty patient. So after about $30 in coupons, two refunds, three transactions, two runs back to get different products and 25 minutes later - no joke, we were done checking out, phew, it was over, I had my great deals, I had made my amends with the poor cashier who I could tell had used every ounce of cash register knowledge he had (and patience too) and we were off. Well I get to church today and look up toward Chris who is passing the Sacrament, and who do I see... but the poor cashier I had put through H..E.. double you know what. His family was new to our ward - that's where I had seen him! I was absolutely mortified. And being the mature responsible person that I am, I ducked and hid my face, and avoided him all through church. I'm hoping I can avoid him for a few more weeks until, hopefully he's forgotten me. Although I'm sure he went home that night and told his wife about the most challenging customer he had ever encountered, who she will now be able to put a name and face to. Let's just say I probably won't be returning to this Walgreen's, even though I have been waiting three months for this new Walgreen's to open up because it's the closest to my house, I just couldn't do that to the guy again, who was quite professional and gracious about the whole thing. Okay so after all of that, if you're still reading you probably want to know what great deals I got that were so worth all of the trouble. It was a bunch of different things from baby lotion to batteries, $90 worth I got for $28. That includes about 4 things I ended up getting for free and the rest averages out to about a dollar a piece. Worth it? I guess I'll know when I have to face that man.

A Beautiful Blessing
On Sunday we had the privilege of blessing our baby boy Jacob. I felt bad taking over father's day but it seemed like the right time. We were lucky enough to have family from both sides in attendance and it turned out really nice. Thanks to everyone on their well wishes for our family, we truly appreciate the support that you continually show us. I am also glad to have such a good husband who takes so seriously his role as
a husband and father. I am so grateful we have such good brothers and fathers who do the same. I feel very lucky. Happy Belated Father's day!

More Pictures
Here are some more pictures of our little Jake, we are just so glad to have him in our home, he is very sweet. Unfortunately he's had a little bit of jaundice (as you can tell from some of the photos)so we've had him hooked up to a light for the last two days, but he's doing better. Today we had Nana and Granny and Papa come to visit.
